Meal Plan: Dinner
Early in the morning, you will embark on a 3-hour drive to Kayunga, where you will enjoy a thrilling rafting experience along the River Nile. You will participate in the captivating rafting excursion on the iconic River Nile for about 05 hours. Whether you’re a skilled rafter or not, expect an exciting experience from the river’s rapids and falls, which offer various challenging options from grade 3 to grade 5.
Following the thrilling rafting experience on the Nile River, you will spend the rest of the evening relaxing at the lodge.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, you will begin a 7-8-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a renowned habitat of various species of animals and birds in Uganda.
Along the way, you will have a stopover at the renowned Equator crossing monument in Kayabwe to take photos and observe the captivating experiments that demonstrate the differences in gravitational force near the Equator line compared to other latitudes. The experiments show how water swirls in opposite directions on either side of the equator line. Though not scientifically proven, these experiments will offer an entertaining and instructive experience while learning about the geographical importance of the equator line.
After a brief visit to the Equator monument, you will continue your journey to the park, stopping for lunch en route in Mbarara, the largest city in western Uganda.
After arriving, you will relax for a few hours before starting the evening game drive in the Kasenyi Plains. This northern part of the park has a remarkable number of animals and avian species, including buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, and hippos.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Following an early breakfast, you will again enter the park to continue your game-viewing adventure. During the morning game drive, you will encounter a variety of wildlife species, such as buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, hippos, and antelopes (waterbucks, Uganda kobs, and bushbucks). On a lucky day, you might have an opportunity to see lions and leopards during the game drive.
Immediately after the game drive, you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will enjoy the gorilla trekking expedition. Bwindi Forest has remarkable biodiversity and is home to fifty percent of the global population of mountain gorillas. The route to Bwindi will treat you with stunning views of the distinctive terrain, which is characterized by undulating terraced hills.
The drive time from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi is about 4 hours.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After an early breakfast, you will drive shortly (about 5–10 minutes) to the park headquarters for a briefing exercise that begins at 8:00 a.m. The experienced park rangers conduct briefing sessions to provide the tracking participants with trekking guidelines and procedures. Following the briefing exercise, 08 individuals will be assigned to one habituated gorilla family to embark on an exciting trekking expedition through steep and heavily forested slopes until you eventually locate the gorillas within the dense forest.
Once you find the gorillas, spend an hour with them as you take photos and observe their daily lives.
After an hour close to the gorillas, you will exit the forest and return to the lodge, where you will spend the rest of the day relaxing.
Note: The community surrounding the lodge offers several optional activities that visitors can engage in if they so wish. The activities visitors can engage in after gorilla trekking include nature walks, community visits, and bird watching.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
