Itinerary
You arrive in Kigali a day earlier or at the airport early in the morning. Your assigned company guide picks you up from your lodge, hotel, or Kigali Airport.
You then begin the Kigali City Tour, visiting selected attractions such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Kimironko Market, Mount Kigali, and Kandt House.
The city tour offers an excellent introduction to Kigali’s urban life, providing insight into the city’s history, culture, and everyday way of life.
Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, you embark on a 2-hour drive to Musanze for the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Experience. Located near Volcanoes National Park, Iby’Iwacu offers insight into local traditions and customs.
At the cultural village, you experience traditional Rwandan culture through traditional dances, music, storytelling, demonstrations of local customs, and interactions with community members.
You then travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

At 7:30 a.m., you take a short drive to the gorilla trekking briefing center, where park rangers conduct a briefing on trekking guidelines and procedures.
After the briefing, you are assigned to a habituated gorilla family and begin the trek with other participants. You hike through Bwindi’s steep and dense forest in search of the gorillas.
Once you find the gorillas, you spend one hour observing them and taking photos before returning to the lodge for relaxation and an overnight stay.

You conclude the safari with a 5-hour drive to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight, enjoying scenic views of Rwanda’s rolling hills along the way.
