Everything you need to know before your safari adventure
Safety Tips
Uganda and Rwanda are safe destinations for tourists from the world over, and the respective governments remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of both the nations and their visitors.
National Parks & Tourist Destinations
All major tourist destinations, including national parks, are generally safe. These areas are well-secured and regularly patrolled by armed park rangers and other security agencies. However, we advise visitors to adhere to the rules and regulations established by the park authorities, including staying out of restricted zones, keeping a safe distance from animals, and remaining inside vehicles during park visits unless in designated safe areas.
Safety in Urban areas
In crowded areas of Kampala, Kigali, and other urban centers, petty crimes such as pickpocketing and bag-snatching can occur. We advise visitors to stay alert, avoid openly displaying valuables like mobile phones, cash, and electronic devices, and take precautions to safeguard their belongings.
Wildlife Safety
Gorilla trekking and other wildlife viewing experiences in both countries are generally safe. During these adventure activities, participants are advised to follow the guidelines provided by the park authorities and guides to ensure safety.
Road Safety
The road conditions and driving standards in Africa are unique from what most visitors from other countries are used to. To prevent accidents and reduce potential risks, we employ experienced drivers and avoid traveling at night.
Cultural Respect
African countries boast a rich cultural diversity. We advise guests to respect local customs, dress modestly, and always ask for consent before taking photographs of individuals.
