With this 5-day Rwanda safari, explore Kigali and the Northern, Western, and Southern provinces, experiencing the country’s history, natural beauty, and landscapes.
Begin in Kigali with visits to key sites of social, economic, and historical significance, then continue to the Northern Province for mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
The safari continues to the Western Province for relaxation along the shores of Lake Kivu, before concluding in the Southern Province with a canopy walk through Nyungwe Forest.

Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, meet your safari guide and transfer to the city to begin the Kigali city tour.
Visit selected attractions, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Kigali Convention Center, Kimironko Market, Mount Kigali, and Kandt House.
After the city tour, check in at your booked hotel in Kigali for relaxation and an overnight stay.
Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, leave Kigali and travel for about 2 hours to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda’s Northern Province.
Upon arrival, visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village in Kinigi for an immersive cultural experience.
At the Cultural Village, meet the local community and learn about their traditions and customs through cultural demonstrations and insights into their daily way of life.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a briefing on the gorilla trekking guidelines and procedures. The park guides will explain the rules to follow before you begin the trek.
After the briefing, trek through the forest in search of your assigned gorilla family. Once located, spend up to one hour observing and photographing the gorillas.
After the trek, embark on a 1.5-hour drive to Lake Kivu for a relaxed evening and overnight stay at your lodge.

After breakfast, depart Gisenyi and embark on a 4–5-hour drive to Nyungwe National Park. Enjoy scenic views along the way as you travel through Rwanda’s diverse landscapes.
After lunch, drive to the Uwinka Visitors’ Center for the Nyungwe canopy walk.
The elevated walkway offers spectacular views of the forest and surrounding landscapes, providing a unique perspective of Nyungwe.
After the canopy walk, return to your lodge for relaxation and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart Nyungwe National Park and drive toward Kigali Airport, with an en-route visit to the Royal Palace Museum in Huye District.
Explore the museum to learn about Rwanda’s post-colonial history, culture, and traditional way of life, gaining insight into the country’s development as a modern African nation.
The drive from Nyungwe to Kigali takes approximately 5–6 hours.
