This 14-day Uganda safari explores eastern, northeastern, northern, western, and southwestern regions, showcasing the country’s diverse landscapes, wildlife, and cultural heritage.

Your safari begins in Kapchorwa District, exploring its rolling hills, spectacular Sipi Falls, and scenic coffee and banana plantations in Uganda’s eastern highlands.

It then continues to the remote and rugged Karamoja region, where you experience the culture and traditions of the Karamojong people before exploring the pristine wilderness of Kidepo Valley National Park.

From Kidepo, travel south to Murchison Falls, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Queen Elizabeth, and Kibale National Parks for diverse wildlife encounters and scenic landscapes.

The safari continues to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, for a gorilla trekking experience through the rainforest.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Uganda and Transfer to the Lodge

Upon arrival in Uganda and after immigration clearance, the company guide warmly welcomes you and transfers you to your reserved accommodation in Entebbe.

Day 2: Travel to Kapchorwa & Hike Sipi Falls

After a restful night in Entebbe, you embark on a 6-hour drive to Kapchorwa, passing through Mabira Forest, tea and sugar plantations, and vibrant roadside markets.

Upon arrival in Kapchorwa, you begin the Sipi Falls hike, an exciting adventure featuring three spectacular waterfalls along the Sipi River.

The 7–8 km hike takes 3–4 hours, passing through farms, hills, valleys, and scenic landscapes, with views of the falls and opportunities to interact with local people.

Alternatively, you can choose a coffee tour instead of the Sipi Falls hike, gaining insight into coffee farming, including planting, harvesting, drying, and roasting.

Day 3: Travel to Moroto for a Karamojong Cultural Experience

By 8:00 AM, you embark on a 5-hour drive to Moroto, the largest urban center in northeastern Uganda. The scenic route passes through Pian Upe Game Reserve, known for its diverse wildlife and landscapes.

Upon arrival in Moroto, you visit a traditional Karamojong homestead, interact with local elders, and learn about their traditions and way of life.

You explore the kraal, observe traditional grinding stones, and learn about the importance of cattle, distinctive attire, and traditional homes in Karamojong culture.

Day 4: Travel to Kidepo Valley National Park

In the morning, you embark on a 5-hour drive to Kidepo Valley National Park, one of Uganda’s most remote destinations.

The scenic route passes through rugged hills, sweeping savannah plains, and colorful local homesteads, offering views of northeastern Uganda’s landscapes and rural life.

Upon arrival in Kidepo, you spend the rest of the day relaxing at the lodge and enjoying panoramic views of the park’s untouched wilderness.

Day 5: Morning and Evening Game Drives in Kidepo Valley National Park

You spend the day exploring the unspoiled wilderness of Kidepo Valley National Park through morning and evening game drives.

During the game drives, you may encounter giraffes, antelopes, gazelles, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, and striped hyenas while enjoying Kidepo’s scenic landscapes and vast savannah plains.

Day 6: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park

In the morning, you leave northeastern Uganda and embark on a 7-hour drive to Murchison Falls National Park, passing through Gulu City, the largest city in northern Uganda.

Along the way, you enjoy views of the flat landscapes, striking inselbergs, and traditional Acholi homesteads, offering a glimpse into the natural beauty and cultural heritage of northern Uganda.

Upon arrival, you spend the rest of the day relaxing at the lodge and enjoying the surrounding scenery.

Day 7: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Trip to the Base of Murchison Falls

Early in the morning, you explore Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park, on a game drive across the northern sector’s savannah plains.

During the drive, you encounter giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeests, oribis, waterbucks, and bushbucks, with possible sightings of lions, hyenas, and leopards.

At 2:00 PM, you take a three-hour shared boat trip along the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, with opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, and other wildlife along the banks.

After the boat trip, you return to the lodge to relax and spend the night.

Day 8: Rhino Tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Overnight in Hoima

By 8:00 AM, you depart Murchison Falls National Park and drive for approximately 3 hours to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola District.

Upon arrival, you go on a 1–2-hour walking safari with an armed ranger to track white rhinos and observe other wildlife and bird species in the sanctuary.

After the rhino tracking experience, you have lunch before continuing to Hoima for your overnight stay.

Day 9: Travel to Kibale National Park & Evening Bigodi Community Walk

You embark on a 6–7-hour drive to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. Along the way, you enjoy views of rolling green hills, tea plantations, small towns, and villages, offering a glimpse into rural life.

In the evening, you go on a 2-hour guided Bigodi community walk, experiencing local culture and daily life while learning about traditional brewing, medicinal herbs, and local cuisine.

Day 10: Chimpanzee Tracking & Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

At 7:30 AM, you take a short drive to the Kibale Forest briefing center for an 8:00 AM briefing with park rangers before entering the forest to track habituated chimpanzees and observe their behavior.

The forest also shelters diverse birds and primates, including red-tailed monkeys, colobus monkeys, and mangabeys, which you may encounter during the trek.

After chimpanzee tracking, you return to the lodge for lunch before embarking on a 2-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 11: Morning Game Drive & Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You explore Queen Elizabeth National Park with a morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, where you may encounter waterbucks, Uganda kobs, elephants, buffaloes, lions, and leopards.

After the game drive, you travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, enjoying views of rolling hills, terraced landscapes, and scenic countryside along the way.

Day 12: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

At 7:30 a.m., you take a short drive to the briefing center for the 8:00 a.m. briefing. Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers provide guidelines for gorilla trekking

Following the briefing, you join a small group and set off through the steep, forested slopes of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in search of a habituated gorilla family.

Once you locate the gorillas, you spend up to one hour observing them in their natural habitat and taking photographs while maintaining the required distance.

Day 13: Travel to Lake Mburo National Park & Walking Safari

After breakfast, you travel to Lake Mburo National Park, enjoying lunch in Mbarara City before arriving at the park in the late afternoon.

Upon arrival, you embark on a 3-hour guided walking safari, offering a unique opportunity to explore the park on foot.

The nature walk provides close encounters with impalas, waterbucks, topis, elands, oribis, bushbucks, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and warthogs.

Day 14: Visit the Bahima Homestead & Travel to Entebbe Airport

In the morning, you visit a Bahima homestead, where you interact with local pastoralists and participate in herding Ankole long-horned cattle.

After the homestead visit, you travel to Entebbe Airport, with a brief stop at the Equator monument in Kayabwe for photos and demonstrations showcasing its unique effects.
