Sport Fishing

Sport fishing, a popular leisure activity in Uganda, attracts both local and international anglers using rods, reels, and various baits. Enthusiasts participate in this lively pursuit by boat on lakes or along shores, riverbanks, and private ponds.

Uganda has several fishing locations that provide plenty of alternatives for sport fishing:

The most significant locations for sport fishing include Lake Victoria and Lake Mburo. However, other notable places offer avenues for sport fishing excursions, such as resorts and hotels along Lake Victoria's shores in Entebbe, Jinja, Ssese Islands, and Kampala.

During sport fishing, participants enjoy an exceptional moment of fun, relaxation, and breathtaking views. This activity adds a recreational dimension to the East African safari experience, giving visitors a unique and unforgettable opportunity to interact with nature.

There are many fish species caught during sport fishing expeditions, including Nile Perch, Tilapia, Tiger Fish, Catfish, and Barbel (yellow fish).
