Uganda has many hiking options at varying altitudes. Three mountains in southwestern Uganda offer hiking opportunities: Mount Mgahinga (3474 meters), Mount Muhabura (4127 meters), and Mount Sabinyo (3645 meters).

Similar to Uganda, hiking takes place in two Virunga Mountains in Rwanda. The two volcanoes are Mount Bisoke and Mount Karisimbi, extending to altitudes of 3711 meters and 4507 meters, respectively.
